With the beauty and good (see the previous post below), comes a little not so pretty and sort of bad (especially if you are a bug).
I think the spiders are winning. If you take away the big spider, a lot more little spiders replace him. These guys greet me by the door. But there are several good points to these guys that lurk by the door. They (daddy long legs) tend to blend in (hence I don't see them as easily), they are very slow (no jumping at me, running up my hand, etc) and they don't do webs. Actually, they don't seem to move . . . and I think they are staying.
They like the house-its pretty, has lots of trees. With all the rain recently, there are LOTS of mosquitoes. However, the misquotes are sooo much smaller and less aggressive than those in St. Louis. You can walk around and they won't even bother you. They just fly around until they hit a web . . . and gulp--yum yum, spidiee's dinner.
Matthew suggested I should try to get over the spider issue if I wanted to ever use my swing again because as he said "they seem to prefer your swing". And yes, they do. I don't think I will be swinging much anymore. But, I do need to learn to live with these guys without fear. Love thy enemy or something like that.
