We got the kayak. It's yellow and sort of big and well, a kayak. I noticed in the booklet that came with it that you can order a cover that goes over the hole you sit it. Hmmm. Not a bad idea. It would seal the kayak and keep unwelcome visitors out of it when we are not using it.
So, off I go. Yep, to Canadian Tire. I looked around. And finally asked a clerk. He showed me a kayak skirt. I explained what I wanted and he said no one made such a thing. I said it could be ordered from the kayak company and I just wanted to buy it locally. hmmmm-off he goes to find his manager. Remember the guy who helped #1 and me with the bike? He is apparently the manager of the sporting goods section. NO English guy. He looked and looked and finally told the clerk that there isn't such a thing. I said to him it was in the booklet that came with the kayak and held my hands together like a book-think Sunday School when you sang with the kiddos and made your hands look like a book-yeah, that's it. Hard to believe I used to teach Sunday School . . . don't hide your light. :)
Anyway, off he goes to the kayak. Ohhh, this is what you want (I think he said that) and I said, Yes, I want it to keep the spiders out of the Kayak. Huh? Ummm spiders. (making crawly with my fingers) Huh? Bugs. Huh? The clerk walked up and the manager asked what I was saying and I told him. Aaaaahhhhhhhhh. They got a laugh out of that.Oh yeah, I have to order it. :)
